Install Lookuru from Google Play and open the app. It walks you through two steps:

1. Turn on Lookuru Keyboard in your phone's keyboard settings. 2. Choose Lookuru as the keyboard you type with.

Then open any chat and start typing. Android will show a notice that every keyboard “may collect the text you type” — that's normal for all keyboards (see below).

Google Play එකෙන් Lookuru install කරලා app එක open කරන්න. ඒකෙන් පියවර දෙකක් පෙන්නනවා:

1. ෆෝන් එකේ keyboard settings වල Lookuru Keyboard on කරන්න. 2. ඔයා ටයිප් කරන කීබෝඩ් එක විදිහට Lookuru තෝරන්න.

ඊට පස්සෙ ඕනම chat එකක් open කරලා ටයිප් කරන්න. හැම කීබෝඩ් එකකටම වගේ Android එකෙන් “ටයිප් කරන text collect කරන්න පුළුවන්” කියලා notice එකක් පෙන්නයි — ඒක සාමාන්‍ය දෙයක් (පහළ බලන්න).

When a keyboard is open, most phones show a small ⌨️ keyboard icon at the bottom of the screen or in the notification bar. Tap it and choose Lookuru Keyboard (or another keyboard).

If Lookuru isn't in the list, open the Lookuru app again and repeat the setup steps. The exact menu names depend on your phone.

Tap සිං on the top bar and type the way you already text in Singlish. mama becomes මම, oya becomes ඔයා. Tap Eng to go back to English.

Typing, Singlish, emoji, voice typing, suggestions and Quick Calc are free and unlimited. ✨ Magic Fix is free and unlimited, always.

Yes. Your typing never leaves your phone — Lookuru doesn't log, store or send what you type, and Magic Fix works offline, on your phone. There's no account to make.

The only text that leaves your phone is text you choose to translate, which goes to Google Translate. Read the privacy policy.

Android shows this same notice for every keyboard you add, because a keyboard technically could. Lookuru doesn't. In password, PIN and “incognito” boxes, Lookuru doesn't even learn new words.

Yes. Typing, Magic Fix, suggestions and Quick Calc work offline. Flip Translate uses Google Translate when you're online; if Google can't be reached, Lookuru translates Sinhala ⇄ English offline on your phone.

Tap 🤖 while the small ↩ shows (5 seconds), or hold 🤖 any time — it undoes up to the last 3 changes. Anything you typed after a change is never lost.

Open the Lookuru app → Settings → Learned words → Clear. Learned words are only ever stored on your phone, never on a server. Uninstalling Lookuru also deletes them.

About once a week Lookuru checks if a newer version exists. Updates bring Lookuru AI improvements, new and corrected Sinhala words, and bug fixes — and sometimes an older version has to update so features keep working correctly.

To update: Google Play → your profile picture → Manage apps & device → Updates → Lookuru. The check only asks “is there a newer version?” — nothing about you or your typing is sent.
